my buddy bought a ford truck recently. it came with 33x12.5x16.5 BFG mudders on it. for him, anything smaller than 38" meats is too small, so he immediately put new ones on. he knew that i want to upgrade to 33x12.5 from my 31x10.5 BFG AT's for my 4runner and told me he'd just give them to me. so, i need to find a set of rims for them. does 16.5" rims exist with the toyota 6-bolt pattern? i've never heard of any. thanks in advance.

 

I've never seen them but I bet some do exist, you could try googling for just 16.5" rims and then go from there and look at bolt patterns...not really sure what the best way is to go about looking for em.

go to www.summitracing.com and search i just did and found a bunch. only problem was that they all had like 4"-5" of backspacing and i dont knwo how much you would need for those. good luck though

I don't think I've ever heard of people putting 16's or 16.5's on a first gen...you may want to get some 1st genners in here before doing anything.

As long as you get the correct backspacing, 16, 16.5, 17, 18, 19, 20 doesn't matter one bit. (Although I would avoid 16" split rims.)

One note about 16.5 rims - they do not have the "safety bead" feature later-designed rims have. That's why they are a thing of the past. Millions of them went down the highways just fine - they're not unsafe - but if you like to air down you will find they pop off the bead easier. And of course if one goes flat on the road the tire bead will walk off the rim and destroy the rim.
