has anybody bought a bumper off of ebay

i need a new rear bumper for my 97 4runner it has the typical rust, since i am just gonna sand it down and paint it anyway i figured why not get a cheap one off of ebay, wondering if anybody else has gone the aftermarket route and how they have held up. also still deciding on what to do with the front end i think i am toying with the idea of painting the 96-98 bumper green getting the performance products front spoiler and getting that the grey color my fender flares are what do you guys think?

Anytime you can get rid of chrome, it's a good thing. My opinion of course.

I cannot answer the ebay question, but I think the front bumper idea is cool. If you post a pic in the next few hours I could photochop it for you.

Can you photoshop my truck? I want to get the stock grey bumpers (the ones that came off the base model) for the front and rear. I can't stand chrome either. Also, can you match the SR5 flares to the bumper as well.

I think your proposed setup would look awesome. There's a few guys here with the front PP spoiler and they love it. It's a little too much for me since I have the "fat lip" bumper already. I also want to do my flares to match the stock grey bumper. I think the color on our rear license plate holder is an exact match to the grey bumper. If I can get my flares this color as well, it would match my gun metal wheels. If I only had the cash and patience...

Just for kicks, let's see what it looks like. I know it would be a PITA b/c of the texture and plastic but why not. Thanks for the photoshop work.

It doesn't really look much different. In fact, I like it this way better. If you just have to see, I will do it, but I think you will agree with me.
