I did a search and did not really find an answer. What are the first parts to break from off road abuse on the IFS with ADD? CV's, hubs, differential, inner axles, etc. ?

 

I would say the CV joints

 

the Cvs may be the first to break, but the Idler arm is the first to bend and hit the frame. Seems to be the weakest point on IFS.

 

CV's... It's the only thing I've actually broken, and I off-road with my right foot.

 

Well it's either going to be the CV boot or the CV joint. I never broke a CV joint, but I did break a couple boots in my time.

 

As stated above, CV's are the worst. Tie rod ends will go and eventually you could have some steering rack issues. It all depends on tire size and how much abuse you give it.

 

Depending on tire size and abuse...the idler arm is WEAK, been there done that! I'd get the idler arm brace from Downey.

While it rarely ever actually breaks, it can get bent and become very annoying if your rig is a daily driver. Especially if you have bigger tires. Take it from me and save yourself a lot of headaches in trying to figure out why your truck's front end won't align properly and get that idler arm brace.

 

or the total chaos idler, but it's bit more $$
