Anyone install camshafts in their 3.0L?

I was looking at DOA's camshaft and was just curious if anybody has these in their trucks....Or any other aftermarket camshaft. It seems like these would net a pretty big horsepower gain.

Ok, ya caught me...I've done the 3.0 DOA cams, turn-key port & polished heads and the oversized t-body on my '88 SAS 4Runner that used to be on 44" Boggers. Was it a big HP gain...maybe...did I notice it with 44's...not really, but it did give killer low-end torque. I did the HP thing thinking to gain driveability and more top end, big mistake. I figure with all the mods to the motor, including headers, open filter assy., electric fan, that the truck would fly...just not the case. Let's just say, no substitute for CUBIC INCHES or another 2 CYLINDERS!! But, live and learn. Now with the truck's suspension completely changed and lowered to 38's with a dual Marlin Crawler and Detroits in both Dana axles, I don't really care about top-end anymore...it's all about crawl.

Any questions, feel free to e-mail me: four_the_hard_way@yahoo.com

Ive also done the cams, P&P heads and full 2.5" exhaust. Theres a power gain there, but I still get outrun by the 3.4L 3rd gen. If I had to do it again, I would spend the money on something else. Not enough oomph to offset the cost.

Maybe I should approch the answer like a lot of magizines do.
Either way you cant go wrong. DOAs product is good no doubt. You will see performance gains. With my setup (automatic transmission, 30" tires but geared for 28") my 0 to 60 time corrected for the slightly off speedo compared to what others have posted is 13.5 seconds. Others that have posted is like 17 seconds. So thats almost a 4 second increase.

The bottom line is that when I compared this to a 3.4L, I wished I had saved my money.
