Need help with alarm... Lost transmitter ...cant start

I lost the transmitter for the alarm and now I cant start the car. Every time I open the door, the alarm goes off. I did un-hook the siren so it doesnt blast everytime but the alarm has a starter disable and it wont work until I disarm the alarm. Anyone got any ideas?

I was thinking of taking the panel below the steering wheel off and I think there is a fuse for the alarm brain. Will it work if I take out that fuse?

amir,

if you have the rs3000 and the brain is under the driver's seat, unhook it and go from there

Pull the fuse from the dei alarm. Most of the time you can do it without removing any panels. To use the valet switch you're supposed to open the door, the alarm will start to go off. You put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position and then use the valet switch. Do however many pulses its programmed for, usually one or two and the alarm will disarm. You have 15 seconds to disarm it after you set off the alarm. If you can't disable the alarm by pulling the fuse or using the valet switch, then you got some serious problems.

actually, i think its a prestige alarm. made by audiovox? there is no valet button, only a valet flip type switch.

Does it say on/off. Just pull the fuse from the alarm. On most alarms its the red wire.

if not .. just reach up under the dash and unplug the alarm unit. At least that's what I had to do with the viper .. which is also made by DEI

i just confirmed its a prestige, i found the owners manual in the glove box. i unhooked the brain and now i just get a very rapid clicking sound? i know my battery is weak. but could this mean that the starter is getting power? or is the clicking sound something else?

Where did you get the alarm...if there is a Circuit City near you then call them and ask them...I used to work at the one around here and they have some really knowledgable guys there...they might be able to help you. I know on my Code Alarm it had an emergency kill switch on the brain itself, you pulled the cover off and switched the switch and it returned to stock. Not sure about yours though.

this is a prestige alarm which is almost 10 years old. basically my battery looks very weak, almost dead. its been sitting for a couple of weeks. so when i try to jump start it, i get very rapid clicking sound. this is after i unhooked the brain. does this mean my starter is getting power but i have a weak/bad battery?

Yes, go ahead and jump your battery. It's probably because your alarm was going off so much.
