Need to pick brains about a 'sub"
I am looking for a "sub" (I forgot what they labeled it as, but I recall a "sub" but it wasn't. A transducer came to my mind when I saw it) that is a flat aluminum panel with no support on the sides from a surround or basket.
It is pretty much free floating.
The motor structure looked to have been made from cylindrical magnets and was HUGE. The magnets were vertical and in a circle.
As I recall it claimed SPL levels of 18 18" subs, and had an excursion of 24" peak to peak.
Anyone know what I am talking about?
Who makes/made it?

yes the adire audio's parthenon using 24 neodynium magnets....
RE audio has a similar sub known as the XMX utilizing one of hteir motors.....
And believe me, yes they are subs...very very badass ones
btw the cone is actually meant to fit in a perfectly matched rectangular tube that the cone slides in. The coiled 'tinsel leads' act as the secondary aligning force.
