I also put on the panhard drop, extended brake line, and Rancho RSX-17027's (self-adjusting). Just haven't done anything with the front yet heh heh... Monday, I'll probably be able to put the BJ spacers on as well as replace my wheel bearings and possibly the inner steering knuckle bushing. The coils I used are 2 left side coils from a '97 FZJ80. Part number is 48321-6A100, Short sides are 48321-6A070. Anyway... here's a before and after pic (but still before I'm done! )

Thanks! I got my panhard from Downey. I just called and told them what I needed! It's a 3" panhard drop.

what do you have planned for the front?

 

Hahahah, I have my Marlin sliders, just need to get my friend to weld em on for me... should I weld them, or bolt them to my frame (weld scab plates to the legs and bolt the scab plates to the frame)? It seems like the latter would be more work, but would be nice to have if I ever decided to sell my Runner for a newer one. I'm gonna install 1.5" BJ spacers, possibly crank the torsion bars 1" or .5". I have some Rancho RSX-17079's for the front also. I can't wait! Do you think I should take my rear bumper off (for better departure angle) or should I just leave it on until I can get a custom one made? Oh, sorry for the long reply, but, I've noticed (sometimes) that the right side is slightly higher than the left. It could just be the ground my truck is sitting on, but, when we put the coils in, we had trouble getting the ends of the coils to fit in the cups like the old coils were, so we just tried to turn the LC coils the same way. Would the rubber things (trimpackers?) affect the height on one side if it is positioned slightly different?

 

I have the Downey HD coils and I've also noticed that the right side is slightly higher than the left. I checked it when it was on a level concrete driveway just to make sure. I made sure to get the coil ends down in the grooves. Its strange because the side thats higher has the gas tank on it???

 

Oh yeah.....you're rig's sweet. Can't wait to see it with the ball-joint spacers on!

 

It must just be the way the 2nd gens are built... Though it is weird that in the end the high side would ultimately be the heavy side! heh heh, oh well! Thanks dude! You have any pics of yours! You're as excited as I am about the BJ Spacers! heh heh, thanks again Garrett!

Kevin, the runner looks great....be sure to get some pics with the bj spacers on. I've got the OME's in the rear and I've got the same problem with that one side being a little higher. It's on the list of things to take care of. Let me know if you get it figured out.

 

Thanks Andrew! I think it might be the little rubber thing on the top cup. I'm thinking if I take that off, it may let the right side down just a bit. I was looking at the stock coils, and it seems that one coil is minutely taller than the other. I'll see if taking that rubber thing off helps. I hope it isn't necessary to have it on there! I'll let you know.

 

Finally got the BJ spacers on!

 

When you refer to the right side, are you talking about the passenger side? Are the long springs the driver's side LC springs?

Yes, when I said right side, I meant passenger side. Also, yes, the long springs are the driver side (left) LC coils. You planning on doing the lift?

 

Yes, but I'm trying to determine which year(s) have the longest driver's side spring, so I can get two of them.
