How to drop oil pan on 92' 4runner?
Hi folks.
I am trying to drop the oil pan on my 92' and ran into an obstacle. Have dropped the steering linkage and dust cover on bell housing (to remove last two nuts on pan) and cannot clear the two mounting studs at back of block. I need to look at the crankshaft and bearings to determine how much damage has been done due to a bad rebuild done when previously owned. Called dealer and mechanic says gotta drop tranny with the transfer case plus the diff to get a look at everything. Is this true? Has anyone else been in this situation and have any helpful suggestions?

There is no need to remove the tranny or transfer-case. The front diff and and front driveshaft have to be removed to gain the most acess to the oil pan. However, if your truck has a suspension lift, there should be more than enough room to remove the ouil pan.
