2nd Gen Lexus V8 swap anyone?
I am thinking of putting in a Lexus 4.0 v8 in my '91 4Runner. Has anyone seen this done? My main concern is mating up with the transmission/transfer in my current truck. Anyone? Thanks.

Popular in Australia - the Lexus V8 there is like the small block Chevy in the US.

Thanks for the replies. Cebby, I have been reading your posts extensively. It sounds like you have learned a few valuable lessons. I may hit you up with questions along the way.
I'm in the planning phases now. It will probably be about a year before the engine swap actually happens. First, I have some interior work that needs to be done, as well as getting my hood painted.
This forum rocks, by the way. Everyone here is very helpful, and I appreciate the way you all document your progress for the benefit of others. As a side note, I just ordered a new digital camera (arrives Tuesday), so I will try and pass the favor on for others.
If anyone has interior tips, I could use any you have. I plan on redoing the interior completely, pretty much. That leads me to another question. I would like some kind of seat material/cover that will stand up well to a little mud and water. Any suggestions there? Thanks again.

For your interior, take a look at Wet Okole seat covers. As soon as my swap is done, I want to pick up a set and get some extra material so I can cover the fabric areas on my door panels and probably my headliner with the stuff. It is basically wetsuit material. Then comes replacing the carpet with a rubber/vinyl floor. That's my plan anyway...
