I could crap. This never happens anywhere near me so I could even dream about doing the swap:

Not mine, and don't know the seller, but heck, you could get all the parts you need and sell a few odds and ends off the car and probably come out ahead on the deal. So what if the motor needs to be rebuilt when you can start out with a "free" one!

Yeah, but it doesn't mention anything about the motor. It could be missing for all we know.

Offered is a 1988 Supra.PARTS CAR.

Its just a parts car meaning motor has been pulled or its unfixable.

It's worth checking. By no way does "parts car" mean it doesn't have a motor or is unfixable. Cruise the ebay auctions for parts cars and see what shows up. There is a supra on there now with a bad headgasket after getting a new head that is listed as a parts car for $1500. There have been a number of Supras on there in the last few months and half or more do have the motor.
For that price, I'd say it would be worth asking the seller rather than making assumptions.

Why is it so hard to email the seller and ask them if the parts you want are there and functioning?

I've played around on eBay for 8yrs now and the minefield of human stupidity on the behalf of both sellers and buyers still amazes me. I just found out I received a negative from a seller 3 months after the auction ended after he sold me a fake prototype toy, admitted to it and returned my money. So I get a negative?
Emailing the seller IS easy it's just that too many people would rather go into it blind then b!tch when things don't go their way.
It could well be this one doesn't have a motor, but I thought maybe somebody would be interested enough to put out a little effort. I'd be all over it if it was somewhere nearby me. The other one on ebay with a bad gasket, has a new head and less than 60k on the car so the bottom end is probably in fine shape. But, it's up in New York dammit...
Of course, the worst thing that could happen would be for one to show up around here for cheap, then I'd have to actually do something or shut up about it

I've been using eBay for a while now so I totally know what you mean....I usually pepper them with questions and if I get poor response, none at all or I feel like they are hiding something I steer clear right away. It is a hit or miss on there (even with someone who has a perfect record), knock on wood, I have only been burned 1 out of 120+ transactions.
