Unhappy 86 22rte turbo adjustments

this motor was rebuilt 5,000 miles ago and was rebuilt to original (stock) standards. It now has a boost controller and boost gauge. What amount of psi could be used with this motor that would be a little on the safe side (basically so no detonation occurs). it has the ct-20 turbo on it. stock intake and exhaust. i am new to this motor. any info would be greatly appreciated.

before you go cranking up the boost i would recommend to get a air/fuel ratio gauge on it so you can see when you go too much...

I would get a wideband. You can get them for a few hundered bucks at summit racing or Jegs. The regular ones just give you kind of an idea.
