Just a question about the clutch bushing mod. The new spring I put in rubs agains the rod that used to hold the older coil/ spring. This creates a little noise when the clutch is pressed all the way down.

It's not too loud so do you just ignore it??

I was thinking I could file down the rod so it didnt rub.....

How do the rest of you deal with this?

also, the dealer wanted 197 to fix the bushings... HAHA

 

from what it sounds like, you are not talking about the clutch bushing mod. you are talking about the spring mod. the clutch bushing mod is not really a mod. its the procedure to replace the broken clutch return spring bushing.

anyways, i did as others have done a la "unhappy99". i did away w/ the clutch bushing and replaced it with a spring. as for the little piece of metal that protrudes from the clutch pedal and holds the clutch bushing itself, i dremel'd it off. no more sound :p
