94 22re looking to do engine swap to a 3.0

Does a 3.0 motor bolt right up to a 22re tranny? Has anyone here done this and if yes can you give me some pointers etc. I am new to this and new more power in the 22re for towing a single place sled trailer...

Help me out here

I don't think the motor mounts are the same on the frame. Don't quote me on that, but I think they are in different places. Someone else will chime in.

I can already hear the 3vze bashers coming in now...

I dont know, but I would think that the motor mounts would be the same - it would definately make it easier at the assembly plant if they did...

Yea, it seems that they would be, but I don't think a 3.0 swaps in place of a 22RE. That's why the 4-cylinder guys swap in supra motors and the 3.0 guys swap in 3.4s. I could be wrong.

poor 3.0 as much as i like the motor im going to have to say go with a 3.4 since you you have to swap out the wiring harness and ecu.

4Runners with a 3.0 are a dime a dozen. Don't p!ss away a bunch of time and money doing a stupid swap like that. Just go buy one with the 3.0 if that is what you are after. You'll probably find there a ton of people out there trying to find a 94 with a 22re and if it's in good shape, you might even come out money ahead selling the '94 with the 22re and buying one with a 3.0.
If you feel a real need to do an engine swap, search the site for the 7mge 7mgte swap. I'd have to look, but I don't think anybody offers a kit for swapping the 3.4 into a Runner that had a 4cyl yet.
Just my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

If that is the case if the tranny does not bolt right up then I will go with a 4.3 l vorteck form chevy.. I was hoping the 3.0 would bolt up to the 2.4 and I would not have to buy 1500 worth of adapters but if I have to do it I guess go with the better more horsepower motor.. Also if I wanted to up the ponies on the 22re where would I start to look first and can I get enough to tow my small single place trailer which loaded weighs maybe 1000 lbs. I think my 31 really hurt me here also....

If you have a 22re and 31" tires you'll want to regear to 4.56s. 1000 pounds is nothing, in my experience the 22re can handle much more than that. Stopping is usually where things fall short.. or way long depending on your point of view.

What would a re-gearing job like this cost front and back gear correct.. And do you have some info on the gears size things like that so I can look around maybe for some used ones?

Thanks
