1985 4 cyl gas tank

how many gallons does it hold? And, are there different tanks for the 3.0? i'd think they could be swapped, if there are two different types. im gonna shoot from the hip and say my tank holds 11 gallons?

Just over 18 if you include the filler neck. Sputtered right up to the pump and died that time, guess I cut it a little close...

well, i think i *do* have a 83 or older then...i just top to bottom filled up at 13.006 gallons or something...man that sucks! ive put about 75 miles on it since rebuild, and its already gone through half a tank!! so, 13/2 is 7.5....lookit that..10 miles to the gallon. sunuva#*(($%. so that means 150 miles a tank...good lord. that sucks. specially since im going 3320 miles next week...so 3320/150 means ill fill up 22 times...and, uh...at 2$ per gallon, equallys 26$ per fill up, totalling 576$?!?!? wtf. sorry used the post as a piece of paper...hehe

the wire contacts in the 4 cylinders injector connector weren't locking in there...so everytime i pulled it to check for continuity or correct ohms, i would read fine, because there was nothing pushing against the wires..but when i plugged it up, the werent making contact....so, yes, like so many ppl have told me...it was something small. and not expensive. but i made it expensive:pat: oh well. lessons learned! ive got a header leak, right around my hedmans....so i just pulled them off, and am grinding down the ridges that came with them...i was hoping they would work, they were flat, afterall....but just not flush with the rest of the flange. well, not anymore . the power of dremel. muahaha

oh, btw....out of the FSM, anything about bad gas milage, and anything dealing with why the idle drops so much when engaging the auto tranny in anything other than P or N that it sputters out and dies. thanks so much!
