FZJ80 springs on 4runner

I have a 1999 4runner 4wd. What do I need to do to fit the front Fzj80 springs in the back of my 4runner. Are OME 2" lift springs for Fzj80 an option aswell. If it would work that would give you 5" of rear lift

The only person I've heard of who did this swap is Bill Morgan

What more info do you need? They fit perfect, the only noticeable difference between the 2 coils is the height, ~3.5" lift and work great!

yup. 1991-1997 are the Fj/FZJ-80 model years. all the front coils will be the same with the only exception being how much they've sagged according to the miles on them.

i would personally prefer some w/a ton of miles and good and sagged. that way, what you get is what you get and they will be good and soft and won't sag anymore...

The FZJ 80 coils worked so well on his, I'm putting them on my 01.

can i not read correctly? is it the front or the rear coils that you guys are using from the FJ80's? are you guys using the fronts on the front of 4Runners? fronts on the rears of the 4Runners? im so confused.

*edit*

Would this mean that if one were to use a drop bracket lift for the front...then it would be possible to use the front OME coils for the fj80 to lift the back 5" or so??

i think wha tyou meant to say is that if you used a drop bracket on the front to get about 5" of lift on the IFS, could you then use some Old Man Emu FZJ-80 2" FRONT lift coils on the rear of the runner to get 5" of lift.

i think the answer to that would be "sort-of". you could get 5" of lift from the coils, but then you also have to drop the panhard bar and lengthen your control arms. you'd probally also want to move the frame mounts for the upper and lower arms to get more articulation.

Yeah, sorry if it sounded confusing...

I was just asking as it sounded like a possibility for those who want more lift out of their runner without a leaf spring conversion.

I am more than content with my tundra front , it's just that the rear of my 4runner sits lower than the front (I have 891's in the rear). Cruiser coils just might be my next purchase.
