cleaning fuel pressure regulator

anyone ever cleaned their fuel pressure regulator? (3vze)

mine is ticking like mad and, though it seems to be working ok (no problems to report), i am going to be doing a tuneup (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, clean throttle body, etc.) and thought i might try to clean it to mitigate/eliminate the noise.

i was thinking to just remove it and soak the inside with the carb/throttle cleaner and reinstall it...

if anyone has ever done this, or has an alternative approach, i'd appreciate the feedback.

yes ,I think thats the part on my truck that ticking. Everyone says I only have noisy injectors but I,m sure most of the noise is coming from that little part. When I put my finger on it I can feel the ticking also.I read a post awhile back and most people here said it was normal and to leave it. Maybe other people here can help with ideas.
