Lifting an 04 with Air Suspension

Lifting an 04 with Air Suspension
I would like to lift my truck about 3-4", combining with other possible things, to fit 33s. My main problem is the Rear Air Suspension.
First, I have to say that getting the Air Suspension with the intent of lifting doesn't make much sense. This is my first SUV and my first off-road vehicle, and unluckily I found this site post-purchase, so I didn't know enough not to get it and now I am too hooked to stop.
That said, I am going to try my best to lift this vehicle anyway. Taking some notes from FourWheelers TrailLex project, a 3" spacer lift up front and then just raising the rear with the air setup would work fine for offroad stuff, but this truck sees 90% dd stuff, and one big difference between the rear air on the GX and on the 4Runner is that the GX will stay at the height you tell it, while the Runner will return to "normal" height after exceeding 22mph, so driving with the front 2+" higher than the rear whenever I want to even get on a residential street is not what I want.
I see a couple of options:
1. Disable the speed sensor going to the air suspension to make it stay wherever I set it,
2. Try to custom fab some type of rear lift,
3. Combine a minor front spacer lift with a body lift to try to fit the 33s, or
4. Live with the fact that this is more trouble than its worth.
Problems with those options:
1. I am not sure how safe this is. I know the GX can handle it, but I don't know enough about the differences in the two systems to say for sure. I do know that there is some reason for the speed limitation. Also, I don't know how to kill the speed sensor anyway.
2. This is beyond my ability. I tried to contact nitrous back when they first got started and were still trusted and, like everyone else it seems, just got told they were working on it until I gave up asking. They are no longer an option, for obvious reasons, but I don't know anyone else, especially in the New York metro area, to talk to about this.
3. This is doable and will probably be the way I go, but will end up with major problems trying to fit 33s with a 1.5" BL and 1-2" spacer lift. I will rub horrably on the inside fender and a-arms too. The fender can be trimmed within reason, but the a-arm rub will require either getting new wheels, if any will fit it, or getting a new and rather expensive a-arm. I will have plenty of problems here too.
4. Why even consider giving up when trying and failing doesn't hurt that much at this point and trying and succeeding would feel that good? Besides, I don't see any other quiters on Yotatech.
Now that this long post is almost getting unreadable come my questions:
-Does anyone know enough to tell me why the GX will do at any speed what my Runner will only do in the driveway?
-How can I disable the speed sensor going into the Rear Air Suspension?
-How much cutting will be involved to fit 33s with the lift combo in #3?
-For the a-arm rubbing problem, what are my options? Wheels? A-arms?
-Lastly, does anyone know a fab shop that could help me create a rear lift, or tell me why it can't be done, without having to drive my truck all the way across the country?
Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated, even if it is just sending me somewhere else. I don't plan on doing this just yet (a couple of months maybe), but all the help I can get until then will hopefully compensate for my newness to major truck modifications. Thanks.
