Question anyone feel like helping?

hey guys. i apparently need to relplace my clutch. i have a 98 4runner, with the 2.7l. it slipped for the first time in it's 130k mile life. i am going to get the asco/aisin clutch kit on ebay (plate, flywheel, bearing, and allignment tool) for $158! i was told this is the original clutch used by toyota. anyhow...i have never done one, and am having a hard time finding someone to install a part that i have bought myself. i am in waltham, ma (just outside boston), and was wonderring if someone would be willing to help me do the job. i can commute to where ever it is you are. if anyone can help, i would appreciate it, and be more than willing to compensate you for your time. please let me know, as i should have the parts in by mid-week. thanks.

brian

bflooks, i dont know how much you know about being a mechanic but from the fact that you know what all the parts are and you could diagnose that the clutch was bad probably means you know enough to do it yourself. I Have a 93 4runner with 2.4ltr and before i bought that 6 months ago i barely knew a thing about mechanical work. All it takes is a little research, much more then enough on this forum, a few friends to help lift and manhandle the tranny, and patience. A clutch job really doesnt require all that much skill, its just putting the tranny in and taking it out that is really hard, actually changing the clutch takes maybe and hour at the very most. If you do try to do it yourself make sure you clean all the clutch components, clean up your bellhousing, take shift sticks off before taking it out, and for gods sake get a tranny jack it would have helped me a lot . I'm sure someone here know the link to the kickass writeup on 4x4 wire i think it is about changing the clutch. good luck
