4Runner Lexan Cargo Area Window 3rd Gen

I busted my cargo area window on a root in Tellico last weekend and was wanted to fab a cheeper window myself. I have axcess to many different plastics because my dad own a sign company. 16g steel could be an option but I might gert tunnel vision and feel like I am driving a panel van. I want to use polycarb because of it's strength but I am not sure if bullet proof glass is too expensive to replace both sides. I am going to use this material for my early bronco windsheild but I am fine with having no windsheild now. Has any one replaced their rear windows with anything. I hope this is an easy swap....

Dude, that is crazy, never seen one do that before. You should be able to do a lexan window, but the hardest part could be getting the curves to set just right.

the compound curve is going to be tuff to say the least. also, it will scratch like a bitch, and won't hold the tint well, but hey, if it's cheap, then give it a try...

A friend had a car that got broken into a few times (the theifs) broke the door pillar window to gain access... So he replaced it with plexiglass... next thing you know one of his friends had a broken hand (coincedence? I think not)

Is NC a "glass waiver state"? Down here in SC most insurance sompanies will replace any broken/cracked glass for $0...not too bad.
