1988 front driveshaft steering knuckle bearing tolerance?

1988 front driveshaft steering knuckle bearing tolerance?
I am currently waist deep in fixing my 1988 pickup. Rear suspension, front brakes, driveshaft work, and front suspesion/hub maintainance.
The bushing that the front driveshaft runs on, underneath the steering knuckle, seems pretty sloppy. The shop manual doesn't specify a tolerance. Its an involved process to replace it and I was hoping some 1st gen 4R/ 2nd gen pickup professionals may be able to give me some guidance on the issue.
So, before we tear into it, anyone know of any tolerance ranges?
Thanks in advance

What bushing is this? The steering uses ball joints (upper and lower). The front CV axle enters the back of the spindle through a bushing. The bushing can be replaced with a needle bearing.
