Gas Pedal Sticking

The gas pedal on my 2000 4Runner often sticks when you first push on the gas pedal to start moving, not during acceleration. I checked out the cable and can't see any glaring problems. Has anyone had a similiar problem? Any suggestions? Thanks

sounds like the spring on the pedal might be catching, or gunked up? if not that, check the throttle body. it may need a good cleaning

Clean your throttle body. There should be a write-up about it. The varnish tends to cause the butterfly valve to stick and it usually breaks free when you first touch the accelerator and then is usually ok while your driving. It'll stick again after sitting for awhile. It's easy to do and will save you about $60 from having the stealer do it.
