taillights, corner lights, gauge lights are out - not fuse

From: Las Vegas.. Soon to be heading for south america in the 4R
taillights, corner lights, gauge lights are out - not fuse

the lights are out.. i replaced the fuses.. i got a 30a fuse instead of the 40a because thats al they had and i wanted to get it done that night.. but the lights still dont work.. and the 30a fuse didnt blow...

any similar problems?

Problem sounds like it may be in the switch itself. If you can take it apart, check all the contacts in the switch and make sure they are all still good.

You might want to try and slightly bend the fuse prongs a bit in the opposite direction of themselves. My brake lights went out and it turned out that the fuse just wasnt sitting in properly due to the old parts. check to see if you are getting juice to everything and go from there. hope you solve it.

which fuse are you replacing? try replacing the fuse ECU-B i think that should work.

i replaced AM-2 and AM-1
there is no ECU B

ps: when the lights went out.. the dash lights flickered a lil bit when i messed with the dimmer knob aftyer all the other lights were already out

which fuse box are you checking, the one in your engine bay or the one in next to the gas lever(inside cab under steering wheel)? I had the same situation on my 3rd gen. no tail lights, cluster lights, corner lights, and climate control lights. I was hooking up some side markers and one of the live wires touched my car and shorted the fuse. the ECU-B fuse. the ECU-B fuse is in the fuse group by the gas lever. if it is not that fuse. then i think you might have some wiring problems. But I'll check to see if I am correct about the ECU-B fuse position during my lunch break. good luck

my hero... thanks a lot.. you were right.. didnt even think of that fuse box..

i would of done so much work..then not figured it out.. then gone to a shop and swore up and down i checked the fuses and payed a ÅÅÅÅload of money.. lol.. thanks again

on another note.. do you ever find things and are like "what the ÅÅÅÅ, why didnt i know that.."
i droped the fuse box cover from the engine bay.. and low and behold.. a few fuse holders and remover thingy. dont think its ever been touched.. my bet is the other guy didnt know about it either..

No problem, im glad you fixed your problem. I know how you felt when nothing was working and you couldn't figure it out. I was there once myself to. IT SUCKS. but now all that weight is off your shoulders and a beautiful weekend is coming. Life is good.
