Multiple ?s: Marlin Brakeline, Downey Gas tank and cv boots

Ok so I got the marlin brake line. The only problem is on the top part there is only one notch, not two like on the factory brake line. One is for the spring clip and one is for the bracket, does the marlin line not use one of these?

Next, after getting a good look at the rear suspension I am noticing what an obstruction the gas tank is. Has anyone looked at running at downey gas tank, the have 12 and 20 gallon tanks that go where the spare is? Also has tried out the downey cv boots? They're supposed to be stronger than oem and allow for more articulation.

Thanks in advance.

The Downey tanks are built by Northwest Metal Products (http://www.nwmp.com/) and are auxiliary tanks. That is they siphon into the main tank where the pump and level sender are. I run one in my 1st gen (from NWMP) and it works OK. I'll be adding a transfer pump to get gas to the main tank better (after raising the main tank 3" the siphon does not work as well):

Some folks have done other things with the 2nd gen gas tanks:

I think NWMP can custom build a tank with fuel pump and level senders built in for use as a main tank. You would need to contact them. Note that adding the rear tank either lowers the spare tire (12 gal tank) or elminates it (20-gal tank):

Would it be cheaper to use the pathfinder gas tank that I've heard about?

I ran into the same issue. I only used the spring clip. It doesn't lock it in place like the stock bracket & clip did, it only prevents the brake line from being pulled away from the proportioning valve in a severe axle droop situation. If you have nothing better to do, take your dremel tool (you already told me you have one ) and grind another notch in the Marlin line. Don't laugh, I almost did it. I don't think its necessary though because the Marlin line is plenty long and unless you are going to disconnect your upper links, I don't think your axle has enough travel to fully strech out the line.

Ford Econoline E250 Van tank is the one, the Pathy tank is too tall.

Someone on Pirate has done it. That's where I saw it. I don't think anyone here has attempted it yet. I think you need one out of a 92 if memory serves. I'm heading to a junkyard in the next few days for parts for my swap - I want to see if I can find a Previa tank and see the shape/dims. I'd like to keep it all Toy if possible.

Here's the thread:

See post #20

EDIT: DirtyHarry and Clutter1 are both running them. The details of the swap seem to be few and far between though.
