flashing o/d light and no speedo

Yesterday the o/d light started flashing and I didn't notice it at first, but I also have no speedo. I checked my codes and get code 21 - OK, but the O/D light gives a code 24....What could this be?

I don't have a reference to a code 24.
To check the transmission short TE1 and E1.
Overdrive switch must be on.

So yesterday I reset the ECU and no more codes and no more flashing O/D (after about a 10 min drive), BUT I still have no speedo! Help!

The code will come back - last fall my speedo quit working ( bad cable )
and the O/D light would flash - no running problems though.
I had to order the cable from Toyota $90.00 but it comes with all the clips
and a new floorboard plate. Once I replaced the cable - everything went back to normal. Cable was twisted into inside the housing just below the driver side floorboard. Advance auto parts shows the cable and it looks good - the end for the speedo cluster is wrong ( not big enough )
It would have saved me $50.00 though.

With the cable from Toyota - took me about an hour to replace it.

So I guess it's safe to drive for the time being the way it is? And yes the O/D light started flashing again....

I drove mine like that for a month or so before fixing it - no problems.
I had to drive out to Oklahoma so I fixed it for the Interstate driving.
Unless you are just being stupid - you will not get a speeding ticket in a 4 runner.
