im trying to figure out what the stock gear ratios were on a 95 4 runner with a 3.0 v-6. i cant check right now bc the truck is broke down in south dakota right now , and im back home in washington. it currently has 4.88 gears , but i was thinking about going with something bewteen stock and the 4.88's.

I believe that if the truck came with the factory 31" tires, and 5 speed, then you would have 4.56 gears. If you have an auto tranny with 31" tires, you would have 4.88 gears from the factory. I don't recall what they came with, if they originally had the smaller tires.

thanks i did a little more research and found out that they were 4.56, now heres a question though , if the auto v-6 had 4.88 gears from the factory , would it be possible to take the 4.88 out of a v-6 auto and install them in a v-6 5 speed or were they different?
if so , the junk yard may be my only option or possibly uggg, the toyota stealership.
