losing coolant, no visable leaks

New thermostat, fan clutch and radiator. no visable leaks and i seem to be losing coolant. nothing in oil and it looks like water coming out of my exhaust. so does that mean head gasket? if so how long does one usually take on a 22re?

water out of the exahust is just condensation im guessing its not from the collant

its probably your headgasket..thats a pretty major issue to fix and will cost you some time and money to have it done right if you cant do it yourself.

Check the freeze plugs on the truck.
We just had to replace the ones in my daughters 95 4Runner. We were able to find the coolant on the ground, but could not see the source of the leak.

If it turns out to be the HG it's not a bad fix on a 22re. I'd just refill it and keep an eye on everything until you have more symptoms.

it's an 88 p/u with a 22re 200,000 miles. i wouldn't mind topping off but it overheats after 15 minutes of driving.

My headgasket blew because I had a small pinhole leak in my lower radiator hose and i caused the radiator to run so low that my truck overheated severly. I couldnt see the leak because it was only leaking when the truck was up to temp, and it also dripping onto my skidplate. Is your idle rough when you start the truck on a cold morning? Like it is missing on a cylinder for a few seconds?

yeah and the idle seems to smooth out after warming up. but still not perfect when its warm

You probally have a leaking headgasket then. What happens is when the motor is cold the headgasket will leak a tiny bit of coolant into the cylinder. When you fire it up it will cause that cylinder to not fire for a few seconds, but once the motor gets some heat the head expands and seals up the leak partially or some times completly. I would put money that it is your headgasket.
