3rd Gen Hub Nut Removal HELP
Ok guys and gals.....I've got a shiny new CV sitting on my garage floor waiting to be installed, BUT I can't get this dang 36mm beast of a hub nut off. I'm yanking on it with a 24" breaker bar, and still nothing...
Is there some secret trick to getting this thing off? Like bang twice, pull thrice, and yell some secret password aloud and hope the gods are on your side?
Come on...there's got to be an easier way.

A really good impact wrench with lots of torque, either that or get a bigger cheater bar and cuss a little bit.

Yah, this thing isn't coming off. I tried jumping on the end of the pipe, all that accomplished was scraping my shins on my sliders. I surrender to it.

Wow. Thats weird..
I luckily had an impact wrench, but, the thing came off really easily.
Try to find some metal piping and stick the breaker bar through the piping hole...
I got some pipe thats about 4 feet long and super thick...i stick that on the breaker bar and its sweet!

I use a 6 ft bar to break them really hard one's loose, considering they are torqued to 240 ft lbs. On my rig I didn't tighten them back down as much........

So really, nothing more than muscle will get it off..ugh. I have to drive 4 hours tomorrow to get my new bumper and I'm sick of CV vibes.
I wish I had a longer pipe laying around, but since I'm always moving I try to pack light.

impact wrench anyone ????
and, i hate to ask but, did you remove the key &/or cotter pin?
if all esle fails &/or you cannot get ahold of an impact wrench, i'd suggest trying to crank it in the opposite direction first, then in the direction of removal(cause sometimes you need a running start), or a "cheater bar" on the end of your breaker bar...true, they can sometimes be a "...beast."

Impact is usually the best way to get off stubborn fasteners like that.
To me it gets scary when you are using a 6ft pipe on a breaker bar.....but it works.
