Safe Hi-Lift Contact Point for A 3rd Gen?

So where, exactly is it safe to use the hi-lift on a 3rd gen? The bumpers seem too weak, and it seems like the rocker panel would get at the LEAST, very scratched up. If there aren't any totally bombproof spots, what is the alternative? Get sliders? Get new bumpers? Ghhaa!!! I hope not, as I just busted the bank with my new OME lift...

Check out the Hi-Lift Lift Mate

There's one on Ebay.

you have to have an aftermarket bumper or some rock sliders to use a high-lift on a 4runner of any kind...

And after you figure all that out, read this thread if you haven't already.

:pat: I forgot to think about that. Hopefully lift it with the wheel and throw a jack stand in there and lower to the stand. I think that might work to change a tire.

So it looks like I'll be saving money to buy sliders and bumpers, in order to buy a lethal piece of equipment! SWEET!

naah, all you need are sliders, a hi-lift, and a waskillywabbit hi-lift slider adapter. you don't have to have the bumpers to do it.

or, you could get one of those straps off of ebay and then carry a jack stand and a 16"x16" piece of wood w/ you to put on the ground and the jackstand on top of it to support the truck from the frame while you change a tire...

Just keep a good 2x4 with ya...put it under the pinch weld and jack underneath it. Install a body lift while your at it

Ohh and there is no 100% safe way to do it. The highlife is too simple of a machine for what it does to be considered truely safe. Most problems occur with the ground on which it sits.

Hi-Lifts are a trail tool, period.

They jack off sliders perfectly.

There is no reason to have one unless you have atleast sliders.

Is the OME stuff on yet?
