Coil spring Isolators why and when are they used???

Just wondering, I have not seen them on toyotas. What are the supposed do ??? :pat:

Well, I have some on the front of my truck. They prevent Metal-to-Metal contact between the Spring and the upper spring seat in the strut assembly. Mine are made out of urethane. The stock ones are rubber.

I bought mine from NWOR when I bought my springs. The Isolators are made by Energy Suspension. The NWOR part # for the 4Runner is 80086.

Here's a thread with pics of them next to my Springs.
