Brake parts cleaner on intake sensors

Question Brake parts cleaner on intake sensors

I used brake parts cleaner to get the black carbon off of the intake sensors. Did I ruin them? Do I nbeed new ones?

Intake sensor? Do you mean the MAF, or rather the mass air flow sensor? It's just a temperature variant wire I believe, but as long as you didn't blast it off, the cans are often pressurized with rather high pressure for such a delicate wire. You'll know if you have issues though if you're CEL, uh check engine light that is, is coming on. Otherwise, it's probably okay. next time try to use a cotton swab with alcohol, to clean the wire.

be very gentle with the cotton swab and alcohol. I used that, and I got it very clean. I also bent the wire (didnt break though, so it still works)
