lift springs w/ cap? will they settle?

Hey all, i have a question regarding the downey lift springs for my 92 p/i. I have a cap i keep on all year? anyone have experience w/ the springs settling? i also have a toolbox i keep in the back and some other camping supplise? would anyone go with helper springs as well? downey says the ride is kinda rough unless there is permanently mounted weight? how much weight do they mean? is it a bad idea to throw some helpers on there w/ the 2 or 3" springs? thanx everyone

I have Downey's 3inch on my Trekker and a cap on the back of fiberglass.

It's a stiff ride for sure. I would expect them to settle a little, maybe .5inch or so over time. It really depends alot on how much extra weight you cycle in and out and how much you wheel.

I would call Downey and ask them. I've had springs before, but none like the Downey ones. Very rigid and built like a brick ˟˟˟˟ house.
