Talking Who is running stock...?

Who here is running stock gears with 33 tires?
What's your top speed around?
How is your gas mileage?
Are you automatic or manual?

I am thinking about getting 33's on my 4Runner... its an automatic and people have been telling me it is probably geared to 4:30...

Thanks a lot guys! I just want more info before I start buying/selling things and then regret it...

Ian

I have a worn out '88 truck with a 5 speed and about 185,000 miles. My junk has 4.10 gears and 32x10.50 Swampers (which are about as tall as most 33"s).

Top speed is about 85 on flat roads. It drops significantly in the mountains, but I can still usually do 65 up the mountain roads if I drop it into 4th and step on the skinny pedal.

Mileage isn't too bad for a 17 year old rig. I get about 19-21 mpg on the highway, at about 70 mph.

3.4 V6 5speed tundra 285/75/16's MT's II

bit slow at take off.. thats about it. im sure there is a loss with mileage but not a whole lot! top speed, i still manage to get there.. 100mph(never gone there) but possible, may take a little longer though.. heheh. 2.25" spacers in front and rear aal if that helps. no engine work done. its no big deal with the 5speed.. i just stay on 1st or 2nd longer. Dont know about autos though. last time i driven an auto was about 5 years ago. =)
soooo.. .. .. .. get the bigger tires!!

Well now I am really confused, according to the sires above and comparing them to another site I found in another thread, I have 4.56 gearing. With the sites above, the vehicle should have come with 31" tires but my spare was a 225/75R-15 and it had BFG 30's when I bought it. What tire size did it come with?

Running stock gears, top speed I've been at was 94 mph don't know or care if it'll go more it's not as stable at that speed as my 70 Chevelle. Gas mileage dipped down about 1-2 mpg. 3.Slow doggomatic.

I have 31s with stock gears and AT. Takeoffs are slower and getting up to speed takes a while. I had it up to 110 mph a few months ago. (I don't recommend doing that)

Yikes, I just realised at 94 mph with 33's that put me at about 103 mph, I didn't think it would even hit that speed.

I believe I have 4.10s, and I've gotten mine up to about 90 with the 33s on it. My fuel economy didn't change though...

ok, here it goes. 90' runner, v6, 4.10's, and an auto. when I lifted my truck and installed the 33's, my mileage dropped from 14 mpg avgrage to 12.5 mpg average. I didnt notice a drop in power, but that may be because I installed a K&N filter, and did the ISR mod at the same time. 5.29's are coming...

as for top speed... it will hit 80, but it takes forever.
