Youch - just put $160 worth of fluid in today!

Wow I didn't know it would cost that much.... for the first time in a long time I brought the rig in for some work, as I will be putting some serious miles on in the coming weeks and won't have a chance to get shop access and such. So I had the transmission flushed and refilled with 15 quarts of Amsoil. The fluid alone was $135. Well, I had this block heater sitting forever, so I had that installed, and while it was there I had the oil changed to Amsoil 5W-30 along with some Lucas Oil Stabilizer. Total bill was $325, and that's at the most honest place in town, here in the midwest where things like this are typically cheaper. So, the moral of the story is as I was writing out the check I really wished I woulda just done it myself. That said, thank God for Yotatech and other helpful resources that let us have the information and confidence to do it ourselves. Yay.... that's my story for the day...

By the way, I can definitely feel a difference in the driving... shifts seem to be much quicker. I guess that makes me feel a little bit better about the bling I spent on the fluid.... but then again for that much I could've bought 2 kegs and that would have provided countless hours (days) of enjoyment!!!

Damn! I guess the big reason I put it in is for the winter.... It's pretty mild so far here in the midwest, but there's still a month or two that could be rough.... I'm in a position now where I can't plug in my block heater, and I really like the idea of having SOME lubrication when starting up on those cold days. I'll have to do some more research on that Lucas problem... do you know this from personal experience or is this some common knowledge on the product?
