couple questions about my 93 22re

ok. first off it burns oil. i havent changed the oil yet but im thinkin about when i do run a thicker oil and use the high milage oil. it helped my ex's old mustang. ive just been refilling with 10w-30 oil right now. i was thinkin about dumpin some 20w-50 in. will that be ok?? or do you have other suggestions? the truck runs like a champ at 175k miles. i smoked my friends 4.0v6 jeep the other day lol.

my second question is that whenever i wheel it. well basically its only happend at Carnegie in Livermore, i turn off the truck and when i fire it back up later and go to drive it bogs really bad. to the point of where its not moving for crap and putts and basically falls on its face. after a lil while it goes right back to normal and wont do it again. the last time it happened i had barely even wheeled it. i just drove through a lil mud then backed up to a ramp and unloaded my dirtbike, turn off the truck then turned it on an hour later or so and it was doing it.

any info would help.

thanks,

Kevin

20-50 should be fine in the motor, it will slow down the burn rate alittle. But is not a fix to your problem. Have you done a compression check?

Are you getting a CE light when the motor bogs down after the resart? Sounds like your cold start injector might be on when it shouldnt.

I tried some of the high milage stuff and it did help. I got less leaking/burning and my oil presue whent up a bit. I run 10w 40 all year so I don't see why you couldn't run 10w50, especially in Califonia with a motor that's a bit loose.
