e brake light coming on

Hey,

My 95 runner's E brake light will come on under kinda hard acceleration and making a slight turn. Like cutting across a busy lane of traffic to another. It will come on for just for a few seconds. Long enough for me to reach down and puch on the E brake lever. It is in all the way which is weird. There is also a mild squeeze sometimes. Is this a sign my brakes need to be checked?

Thanks,
Joe

It sounds like your low on fluid in the reservoir. Check your brakes, you might need a replacement on one end or the other. Then top off your fluid...

Yep, time to check your brakes for wear and also a good time to flush the brake system too.

I know my 2nd gen's brake like was on all the time, even with the fluid up to the top, turns out the switch in the cap went bad. The easy fix was to just unplug that sensor ~good bye brake light

The usual reason for it coming on and off is that the brake fluid, if just a little bit low, will slosh around and trigger the sensor randomly. As others have said, check your levels, top it off, however most importantly, if the light continues to come on and off, and if the brake fluid continues to drop (even slowly), have the brakes checked immediately.
