Perhaps someone here will give us a write-up on bolts. Seriously. What I mean is what are the different types of bolts used in automotive assembly, their relative strength and uses. I for one would certainly learn from a thread like that!

Need to resurect this post as i have the same question. After my 3.slow fell off the engine stand (dont ask) I need to track down the RIGHT sized bolts.

SO ive tried useing some old head bolts but they seem to be the wrong diameter but right pitch thread. so like a m12x1.25?? but i dont think such animal exists because ive spent quite a bit of time TRYING to find bolts that would work. seems all i can find in a m12 is a 1.50

little help plse.

thanks

Go to the dealer and get some new bolts or call the parts dept and they will tell you what size they are.I put everything in zip lock bags if its not going back togeather anytime soon. Most of the time I tie parts bags to the part it came off of.just a thought for the next time.It will drive you crazy if you ever take a body off the frame to restore a vehicle.I bought one from a guy who took it apart and couldnt figure out what was what.Real cheap.
