Lightbulb Can you wire in the SS FTC before installing injectors?

I want to get the Split Second FTC installed in Sherpa. It has the URD mappings loaded in it. I want to get that portion of the URD Fuel Kit project completed. Can I install the FTC now and install the larger fuel injectors at a later time? Will installing the FTC without the injectors cause a major problem? Will it even run well at all with that setup?

Thanks,

-S

I have an FTC installed without injectors or fuel pump. I just needed to retard the timing during boost. You would have to save the preloaded values in a file on your laptop, then set the fuel values to 10 and save them to the FTC. This would leave the fuel map stock. Later, after you install the fuel pump and injectors, you can restore the values that were originally set in the in the FTC from the laptop file.

By the way, I installed the FTC under the passenger seat and mounted a terminal block for 10 connections in the passenger kick panel of my Tundra. That way, I can easily disconnect the FTC and set the ECU back to stock by simply switching or disconnecting some wires using a screwdriver. Hope this helps.

Shifty,

Thanks, that does help. I'll probably wire in the terminal block like you suggested. Did you pick the block up at Radio Shack?
