New guy with 92 4runner
Hi Everyone!
I just brought home a 92 4Runner last night and can't wait to start working on it. My previous and still current ride is a 96 Taco, so I am used to the Toy reliability. I just needed to get into something that would hold 3 easily.
Hopefully some of you can offer some suggestions and some pics of good mods for my new 4R. 80% of my driving is highway, the other 20% is up the large rocks we call mountains here in Phoenix.
I have looked at Corey's white 4R and love it! Hopefully I can get mine to that point soon.
Thanks for the great board. Have been looking around here for only a day and have learned so much.
Main purpose of vehicle is as my commuter to work, with mountain work involved for my transmitter sites. Secondary purpose is to build it into a mobile command post for ARES/RACES work with the ham radio group I am in.
Give me some good ideas!!!!
Thanks,
Nvision - Az

Welcome to Yotatech Nvision. Nice looking Runner, looks just like mine. For rock rideing ie good wheeling, I would suggest a lift, bigger tires and an ARB or TMJ bumper to start and maybe a locker if so inclined. Coreys ride is a real good example of what you can do with 2nd gens.

hi welcome. The first thing I done was install aisin manual hubs. Then I drilled holes in my air cleaner box for more air flow and added a K&N filter. Procomp ES3000 shocks all around with a Procomp ES2000 stablizer. When I get more money, I will install a lift, new tires,488 gears, and a locker.
