First Detail w/PC on '99 4Runner

So I made the newbie sin and forgot to shoot before pictures , but here are the afters:

Wash with Meguiar's GC Wash
Clay w/ Claymagic Clay kit (very good stuff)
#80 w/ Meguiar's Polish Pad ( on speed 3 to spread, then 5 to work it in)
EX w/ Meguiar's Finish Pad (on speed 3)
CMW w/ Meguiar's Finish Pad (on speed 3)

The usual Suspects:

REFLECTIONS:

Side Shot (nice depth)

Dressed and Ready to go:

Overall, i'm happy with the results, i can still see cobweb scratches in the finish, but they are not AS apparent as they once were. #80 is a fantastic product, works for a long time and really helps deepen the paint. I didn't have any #83 to try, but that may be next time. I really like EX, its very slick, goes on fast, and comes off easy. CMW was just as easy, but it didn't seem to be as slick or deep as EX alone.

I apologize for no "before" shots, but rest assured, i'll have some for the next detail. I'm really getting into detailing, and i can feel the envy @ stoplights from other Runner owners who see my truck bling! hee hee

Let me know what you think....

edit: Acronym Translation list:
#80: Meguiar's Speed Glaze
#83: Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish
EX: Poorboy's EX Sealant
CMW: ClearKote Carnuba Moose Wax

About 7 hours total, from start to finish. And that's for the exterior only. I haven't gotten around to doing the interior (We're getting lots of rain recently).

looks awesome!

hijack warning: have you been offroad with those fog lights mounted under your bumper yet? .. i had almost the exact same setup and crushed them on a little hill while wheeling.. you may want to think about moving them up into the bumper so you don't have to buy new ones like i did..

Hi Russell,

I've been on some really rutted dirt roads, but nothing i could call "Offroad". I.e. no trails.....I've seen more damage to the lights from people backing into me when they are parallel parking. I know when someone has "tapped" me by seeing if the lights are bent back (my license plate is also bent from someone backing into me). Because of this, i will be removing them within the near future, and installing a sport front and rear bumper guard from performance products. What I figure is; someone sees that behind them, they're going to pay closer attention when backing up....

watch out as bumper guards arent strong enough to not bend during a little bump parking.. they will deform and cuase damage to your grill... more damage then nothing at all even....
