Just finished my suspension lift!! 2002 Tacoma 4x4

Well, I'm done.

Camburg 2.5" coilovers up front. I adjusted them up 1" for now, probably will go 1.5" after they settle a little.

Deaver 1.5" 5-leaf packs in the rear. For the next 2 weeks, I'm going to be running my stock Bilstein shocks as the Bilstein 5100s are on back-order.

Here's my before and after numbers.

Before
Front: 35.5" (ground to fender)
Rear: 36.75"

After
Front: 36.5"
Rear: 38.25"

Took a few laps around the block, and my initial impressions are: a little firmer, a lot LESS axle wrap, and less body roll. Can't wait to get the Bilstein 5100 out back to finish the install.

Everything mentioned was purchased at Wheelers.com

I have an entire TRD Bilstein suspension on my garage floor. There's a post in classifeds for this stuff. First come first serve.

Pics to follow.

When I'm able to feel my fingers again, I'll grab the camera...

=D

Actually, this was a lot easier than my Audi S4 full coilover suspension. That put me on bedrest for about 1.5 days.

Thats good to know...

A buddy of mine has had a full H&R setup waiting to go on his S, I'll be sure to be "unavailable" when he decides to put it on. Thanks for the heads up

Well this must be the time to be doing suspensions! I too just got done doing (redoing) the suspension on my Tacoma. I am so tired and sore. Doing the upper a arms was not a fun task at all. I have my fabtech performance coilovers for sale and the fabtech AAL.

Front: Camburg Coilover and Camburg Upper A arms
Rear: 1.5" Deaver AAL and Cornfed 1" Shackle

I too ordered my stuff from Wheelers and I can't wait until the Bilstein's are available.

Bauer - How far down do you have the spacer ring cranked on the Camburg's?

I basically spun them until I had a 1-1.5" lift. I would say there is about 2 inches of threads showing up top. They are going to settle, so I'm sure I'll have to crank on them some more. The spanner wrench they sent sucks, my knuckles are hash right now.

They sure are PURTY though.....

Wheelers just told me January until I get the Bilstein 5100s. We'll have to see....

With regards to the H&R for the Audi. Just make sure you jack up the entire front of the car and the entire rear. Don't try to fight the sway bar.

Just be thankful you didn't do the a arms at the same time. Took me 10 hours to get one side completely finished including the shock. Then lastnight spent about 4 hours doing the other side. I could do it a little faster now but I could use a hot tub right about now.

The spanner wrench would be a lot more comfortable if it had an extra inch or two and was round.

When you get a chance would you mind measuring the amount of thread you have showing between the spacer and the bottom of the beautiful red top. I am set at about 2" and was curious where you are set because I already had a lift on my taco.

Nah, its not that bad. Friend and I put HR coilovers all around his B5 S4 in about 5 hours (including beer drinking). My 4runner got springs n shocks in about 5 hrs as well. Secret seems to be to have the right tools (i.e. air tools) and a writeup with the secrets (i.e. for this ride height, adjust the rings to this many inches of threads showing so you dont' have to do any ride height adjustment under the car).

yeah, the coilovers on the S4 weren't that difficult. Of course, doing another set will always be easier than the first set you do.

I have STaSIS on my S4 and they are simply works of art. They are super easy to adjust and they transform the car into a whole new experience. I would say it was the best mod I've done.

that's a whole other Forum though (audiworld.com)

I'm jealous . Can't wait to see pics.

I can't wait to swap out my spacer lift with a good coilover lift. First though, I want to get rid of the AAL in the rear and get a new leaf pack and shocks.

I've got the Fabtech's For Sale. Just need a rebuild and they will be like new. I didn't beat on them just blew a seal. Since my rig is my DD I can't wait for rebuild and I wanted something new too. Pics will be coming.

Bauer - I hope I am not hijacking, just thought I'd chime in cause I just did the same thing.

Thanks, but I'm going to save up for either your setup or the one with the Hoes.
