Where do you keep you deckplate?

When out (which is 99% of the time) mine is either in my glove box, or more likely in the passenger door storage pocket, where it rattles. I have enough rattles. I'm gonna try and figure out a groovy way to store it in the engine compartment close to the airbox, maybe attached to the underside of the hood in some way.

Have any of you beaten me to the punch?

Lessee, I could toss it in the back storage compartments, only one seat back pocket (passenger seat) and its overloaded with maps..... As for the center console idea, I'd have to have one (though I'd love to get some better seats, so maybe in the future).

All perfectly practical ideas, but I'm still gonna try for some slick under hood mount, just for my own pleasure.

I don't have the deckplate. But I removed my airbox door and I keep it in my glovebox. No rattling, too much reciepts and paper in there.

Why not get another deckplate and mount the mounting ring somewhere else. That way you could screw it in the second ring when not in the airbox.

A marine deckplate is mounted to the front of the 5VZ airbox after cutting an appropriately sized hole in the plastic. The deckplate gets put in for stream crossings to retain the stock snorkel in the fenderwell. I leave my deckplate off 99% of the time. It's good for 5HP on the dyno.

Nice....I'm digging that idea.
It gets dark so ˟˟˟˟˟˟ early, I made no progress today on my little project (my bigger project is delayed while I wait for an extra piece from camburg).
