I've got that lift kit. I'm working on installing it. The front is mostly done, but the rest will get done when it gets done. I'll keep you posted. Lift requires driveshaft work and IMO a rear disc conversion among other things.

I've been running 5" lift All Pro front and rear springs for three years.

After initial installation you are gonna think they are 7" springs, but they settle pretty quickly- after a couple hard trails, mine dropped almost 2.5", and after the first year, dropped about 3" total. No failures, kinks or other problems - but I do occasionally have to loosen up the u-bolts and beat the lower springs back into position after they walk a bit when flexed. You will notice your rig will cant to one side or the other as the springs settle- it's normal.

Any lift normally requires driveline changes. But a rear disc conversion? That has nothing to do with the lift. It's not a bad idea, but one does not affect the other.

I had a lot of similar problems with my Allpro lift. The springs were continually having to be banged back into place after just about EVERY trail run. This no longer happens with my AOR Orbit Eyes.

I have All Pro's 4" long travel kit on a 85 pickup with 35" BFG's. So far I am a bit unhappy with the stiffness of them but I have only had them about 3 Months and off roaded them 3 times. There has not been any axle wrap or leaf movment. Over all they are pretty good springs.

It takes a few trails in the 3.5 to 4.0 (1 to 5 scale) for the springs to flex well. A side benifit of a soft spring is that the truck rides really nice now.

What type of shock are you using? Ride quality can be improved a LOT with a good shock...

I've had'm all over the years, IMO, nothin' beats Bilstein for a standard (non-coilover) shock.

Pricewise, any premium shock costs about the same...it's part of the price we pay for the long trave we need.

Those trailmaster ssv's worked good on my truck and are cheap. I like all of this info, I'm about to convert to allpro springs, I like those new super flex one's that they're offering. Everything I have from AP works great so far. What's up everyone! It's been along time since I have been on here. I just finished my motor project, new shortblock, totally redone efi head and everything on the motor is brand new except the intake. I got an outlaw webber carb, hedmann header. I did everything myself and it turned out really nice. It was fun and pretty easy. Anyway we're supposed to be talking about springs right. Later

springs

I did a sas on a 91 pu and used all pro 5" springs. I didn't like the springs at all. They were really stiff even after a year of using them. I would go with alcan springs. They are amazing. Also for shackles and etc., check out AOR (Advanced Offroad Research). They've got some killer products.
