I'm looking to install a car alarm, not looking for anything to fancy basic protection, remote unlock/lock, being able to put down the rear window remotely would be cool too. Mostly I want it safe. What alarms are recommended? Also I'd like to install it myself. Recommended guides and such. Also any other advice?

 

The alarms from DEI are good and you get free replacement if it dies. I have the Viper 550HF with remote start. They also have good install instructions on there site.
