if you are into some serious offroading, i would wait a bit. they are coming out with a new xterrain that looks exactly the same. its called the pro comp XTC. basically, it has improved traction and all this other stuff. i cant think of it off the top of my head. i read about this in an article in offroad adventures which you can get at 4wheelparts. i have the procomp muds and i find them very capable of anything i throw at em.

sweet! i can wait. i still have tread on my bfgs hows the life of the tire though? i was thinking of getting BIG-O M/T coz they have life time warranty up to a certain amount of tread left. so when they get low, ill go thrash the tires and get new one for free.

but the X Terrs look so AWESOME!!

I got the x-terrains and i love them. the thing about the new x-terrain XTC is that it has an even shorter tread life, around 25,000, miles if you drive it on road. They are insane off road though. they grip everything. unless you plan on going wheeling more than a once or twice a month, then get the mud terrains. they ride great but it's the price and tread life that's the down fall

From what I've read about the new X-terrain XTC's they use a softer compund/rubber in them, so I'd guess that the life of the XTC's would be a bit shorter than the regular X-Terrains. I've heard some really good things about the X-terrains, and if I were to get a set of Mud Tires I would probably get the X-terrains because for one thing I think they look bad ass, and they're supposed to perform really well

But i've decided that when the tires that came on my Xterra (which aren't bad tires, General Grabbers) I'm going to get a set of BFG All Terrain KOs, mainly because if I wanted to get a set of X-Terrains on it, I would have to get new rims (It came stock with 16") And if I remember right the X-Terrains only come in 15" rims in the 31" or 32" size (I might be wrong) and I like the stock rims on my Xterra, so I'll just stick with some BFG's

Goodluck with it!
