I'm having a hard time finding a set that I like. I've tried a few types of airhorns and a couple others. I think I'd like to avoid the air horn if possible since I've gone through a couple compressors and they're hard to find replacements. Thanks, oh and sound clips would be appreciated with any suggestions too!

I have been thinking of upgrading my wussy horn as well. Where do you get these Freeway Blasters from and how much will they cost me?

 

I just bought a pair of stock horns for a '04 accord(they are very loud).I haven't wired them up yet(they are single wire)and i need to hook up a relay.Thet were about 40 bucks for the pair.

I agree, freeway blasters or similar are great. Also, when you hook them up, utilize one of the two stock horn in addition to the new air horns. By doing this you will always have a back up and it allows you to let out a quiet "meeep" if you are just trying to get someone's attention vs. blasting them off the road (do this by barely tapping the horn button).

 

I just installed the freeway(highway)blasters. Wow...what a differance. I bought mine at Checker Auto Parts but I also have seen them at Auto Zone. I bought the hi & lo tones 138 decibal ones. They were about $15 a piece. Install was EZ. I installed in the OEM location. I just pulled the wire from the OEM horns and pushed the wire on to the new ones. Done in less than 5 mins.

 

I don't think they sound overbearing. My truck just sounds like an old Cadillac now when I honk the horn

 

Yeah, I'm happy with mine now that it is cold and dry again. When it's warm the echo from the forest a quarter mile away didn't come back as pronounced

Two compressors, mounted where they are always dry and warmed up by the engine. Never had problems. To get the tone right bought 2 kits, used the compressor and the long horn from each.

 

I put Fiam Highway Blasters on my '00. BIG difference. Although, I would prefer a lower note like a '60's Caddy. But still an attention getter (a.k.a., crap their pants) compared to the stock horn.

 

Don't need no stinkin' horn.

 

Tell that to the big rig that almost merged into me a few weeks ago!

 

i have a 2001 and mine sounds similar to that one, did they change the horns on newer ones?

 

I'm happy with mine. I have airhorns and theyve held up good.

whats the best horn that is basicly plug and go where i wont need a compressor? my little sister was with me the other day and some retart almost hit me i laid on my horn, and my sister was like whats that noise, and she didnt belive me when i said it was the horn
