People with yellowed dealer lic. plate frames

Why do some people leave it on for years and years? Are they that lazy that they can't remove a couple of bolts? Maybe they want to match the color of their teeth?

The other criteria to be in the prestigious yellowed frame club is to adhere your new registration sticker on your plate while being sure to get a good portion of the corner stuck to the frame.

For a long time I was just too lazy to remove it since it was black and not faded or anything. But then TX passed a law that says you can get ticketed for having a license plate frame that obscures any letters/numbers on the plate. So I bestirred myself to remove it....

I've never understood why anyone would want to advertise for the business who probably just ripped them off! Whenever I've gone to the stealership the very first thing I do when I get home is remove any of their stupid stickers or frames ... they don't pay me to advertise for 'em... Don't be their patsy, get those ads off your ride.

Revolt!

I agree, first thing I do is peel off the crooked dealer stickers and toss the plastic advertisment license frame into the trash. Then I remove all of the badging.

Have you ever noticed that about half of the dealer stickers put on new vehicles are crooked. I would be pissed after spending $32K on a new vehicle and have some schmoe at the dealer slap their sticker on crooked. grrr.

Yes. Yes they are.

Welcome to earth

Here's what I used to have on my pickup, it's in a box somewhere now though I think... I should dig it out again!

Now, I live in LA and I have a friend that is from Hingham, Mass.. The Black and Gold plate frame on his Explorer says:

The Real Bruins
Play in Boston

I just thought a Red Sox Fan would appreciate that one.

Right on!!!
My wife questioned what I was doing when I took the dealer plate off the front of her Montero, (in TN. you only run a rear license plate) & I asked her if the dealer had cut her a check for advertisment.

When I bought my Yota in 01 I called the salesman to tell him I would be by to pick up my pick up the next day and told him that the perforation marks in the front bumper had better be intact and not have a dealer plate on it so of course my wife comes outside when I get the Tacoma home, grab the wd-40, and start stripping dealer stickers off my truck.

I don't mind the dealer stickers. I just don't like the frames: It looks cheap and like most domestic automobiles, they don't last long.

Removing the dealer stickers was the first thing I did with mine. This also included removing that plate frame. Those are horrible!

Heh. My truck didn't have stickers, but had frames...FROM 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS! Talk about a lazy dealer, couldn't even put his own frames on. The first thing I did was get gas, then I pulled off both frames and both plates. I make a stop in SLC for an oil change and I get bright yellow plates and frames that say Karl Malone Toyota!! Argh!

they leave it on there because they are not enthusiest (sp?)......my x-gf had a car to get from point a to point b and thats all she cared about, if you gave her a choice between a BMW or a Cavalier she would ask which one got better gas mileage.....therefore she didnt care if there was a stupid label on her car, its just a tool used for the soul purpose of transportation and nothing more.....
