Reiter Trails Cleanup 10/02/2004
We had a lot of YotaTech folks along for the Reiter Trails cleanup last spring and they helped WATTORA haul out an AMAZING amount of trash. Thank you!
Well, the folks at S.N.O.R.T. are organizing another one and we will be pitching in to help, so I thought I would pass it along here as well.
Last time we had a great run with a lot of folks enjoying the day. In addition to hauling out a lot of trash, folks got to test their skills against a variety of terrain, with a supportive group there to assist them and "egg" them on
This event will be much the same, part trail cleanup, part trail run and part Trail 101 class. Whether you are an old pro at the sport or are just looking to get started, this is the perfect run. The "old pro's" can take off for Lake Isabel or the Index Wall and those who are less sure of foot can play all day in the power-line trail area. I will be working the easy to moderate trails for most of the day, so feel free to come hang out, pick up some trash and learn a few things along the way. I would be happy to give you a hand and walk you through some of the obstacles in an area that is ideally suited to stock vehicles and beginner level drivers as well as having alternate trails that will challenge just about everyone else. As those who were along on the spring cleanup can attest, we won't leave you stuck and will look out for you.
Reiter Trails is an area where WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! It's not officially an ORV area, but it's not closed to us either. It exists in between and we can help tip the scales toward keeping it open and available for our use by simply helping to keep the area cleaned up. If you are looking for a great run to get your feet wet for the first time or are one of those who has seen and done it all, come play with us and show what keeping this area open means to you.
You have seen me on here venting about responsible trail use and about putting your money where your mouth is. This is a chance to do just that. Show you care, make a difference, help keep the Reiter area open or don't whine when it's all closed
Details and an RSVP form are here: http://www.wattora.com/EventDetails.asp?ID=68

My pleasure. I am hoping we will see some new faces as well as some of the "old salts" along for this event.
People can't say there wasn't enough notice, it's over a month away and they can't say it's not for a good cause.
With all the bashing YotaTech takes on other boards for not being trail oriented/harcore enough, it would be nice to appear "en masse" and send a message that while many here are new to the sport or are not looking to be full-on rock-crawlers, when push comes to shove, the members here are as prepared as anyone to do the right thing to keep lands open.
Doesn't that have a nice ring to it?
