Vafs?

I suspect the VAFS (Vane Air Flow Sensor) on my 92 4x4 3.0 xtra cab is sticking? I am experiencing engine hesitation upon initial acceleration(like lifting my foot on/off the accelerator). I removed the top of the air filter box and moved the flap with my fingers. It moved freely. I removed the 2 screws that secure the wiring plug to the air clearner lid but found several attached connections within the air cleaner lid that I could not disconnect. Any advice is appreciated.

I think you undo the wire clip to remove the connector.

I don't believe it's your VAF, but here's some info that might help:
http://www.celicas.org/mods/afm.html , WORD OF WARNING: If you accidentally screw it up it will cost you!!! I believe that you have other problems other than your AFM. Did you check the usual suspects: tune-up, tps, vac leaks...?

Good Luck!
