Question regarding 99 4Runner Gas Gauge

My 99 4Runner has an 18 gallon tank. Whenever I fill up, I can only get 12 - to 13 gallons in the vehicle. The gauge is obviously telling me the tank is empty when it is not. Has anyone else had this problem?

Aha....the good ole' gas gauge TSB. Your sensor is lying to you. I got mine replaced for free at the dealer (TSB), however I'm not sure if they cover 99s. Call Toyota corporate to find out before you take it in because they might give you trouble about covering it for free.

The dealership will repair it under the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin), free. Don't let them tell you otherwise.
