Installed deck plate truck won't start

After putting the deck plate in the truck it won't start. I washed out the air box with water. I'm assuming that getting the Mas Flow Sensor didn't help. Anybody had this problem?

you washed your MAF?

also, did you pull the EFI fuse? if so, plug it back in and try again.

Some of the writeups when dealing with your intake say to pull the EFI 15A fuse out helps reset the computer to get used to the new airflow... He was making sure you put it back in if you had pulled it out in the first place.

Sounds like you didnt, but, that wouldnt cause your engine not to start.

Let your MAF dry out over night. Unplug it and make sure its dry before starting it back up.

scary stuff...

Did you plug the connector to the MAF back in?

Water and electronics/sensors is not a good combination. It's quite possible that the MAF is fried if you plugged it in and tried to fire it with it wet.

I would give the MAF a shot of contact cleaner to drive off any moisture, pull the fuse again and doublecheck all the connections. You may try unplugging the MAF connector and giving it a shot of contact cleaner, too. I wouldn't hose down anything else under the hood or in the passenger compartment, for that matter...

Does anyone know of a pin to pin ohm out procedure to see if he is still within specific resistance tolerances? Unless I'm way off base I'm thinking that sensor is just a coiled transducer circuit with a specific range of ohms that can be measure and checked for continuity. I also assume that it's possible to open up the maf and inspect it for moisture or allow it to dry if necessary.

Did you disconnect the air tube? If so make sure that all the clamps are tight. Mine will not run if I have an air leak

Most MAFs are just a hotwire setup so a simple resistanve check should work fine. I doubt just getting water on the sensor will kill it and even then the truck should start but just run crappy......my bet would be something else (make sure you plugged the MAF back in correctly if you did disconnect it).
